Neuropsychological Evaluations

Neuropsychological evaluations may be needed to help clinicians determine diagnoses, create treatment plans, or understand an individual’s strengths and weaknesses in their functioning. Neuropsychological evaluations include a series of tests and clinical interviews to allow the neuropsychologist to better understand how the brain functions on certain tasks.

Neuropsychological testing is scheduled for approximately 5-7 hours, depending on the types of tests needed for the individual’s presenting concerns. These tests are designed to help the neuropsychologist better understand how well the brain is working on certain functions such as processing speed, short-term and long-term memory, attention, intellectual functioning, reasoning skills, and many more.

Our providers are specially trained in implementing and interpreting neuropsychological tests to inform their care and provide services and recommendations that are the best fit for you.

Psychoeducational Evaluations

Psychoeducational Evaluations are assessments that allow a psychologist to understand a student’s functioning on many different levels. These tests and interviews are designed to examine a student’s levels of cognition and general intellectual functioning, social and emotional functioning, and academic success.

Psychoeducational evaluations will start with a clinical interview with the psychologist to understand the student’s developmental history and background, medical history, and information from the student’s parents or caregivers. These interviews help gather more nuanced information to determine the testing necessary to assess the student’s performance in certain areas adequately.

After the clinical interview, the student will complete a series of tests to evaluate their cognitive, academic, intellectual, and socio-emotional functioning. The psychologist will then interpret the scores and provide recommendations based on the findings to help the student, their caregivers, and teachers better understand their strengths to help them flourish in many areas in life.
