Counseling Post-Doctoral Fellow
Dr. Kate O'Brien is a post-doctoral fellow who provides client-centered therapy services to middle-school aged children, adolescents, and adults. She is passionate about utilizing a neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming lens to address anxiety, mood concerns, relationship functioning, identity and self-esteem, and overall mental well-being.
Dr. O'Brien earned her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Xavier University and completed her doctoral internship at Wichita State University Counseling and Psychological Services center. Following her in depth clinical training, Dr. Kate O’Brien utilizes evidence-based interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Dr. O’Brien is committed to creating an emotionally safe and collaborative therapeutic space that allows each client to show up authentically. She aims to help clients identify their strengths and utilize them in meeting their goals and building a life that feels fulfilling.
